Last night we showed Hungry Hungry Eat Head at Wolff Olins as part of a series of talks they hold at their offices. Wolff Olins with Wallpaper magazine worked together for Wallpapers January issue to speculate what things will rise or they wish to rise in prominence in 2010. http://www.wallpaper.com/fortyfor2010.
The talk had 4 speakers:
“…hear from two of the inventors behind them: Duncan Fitzsimons of Crossbreed, the world’s first folding wheel, and Peter Collingridge of Enhanced Editions, the next generation of e-books.”(+ a speaker from Nokia Money & an amazing data visualisation project which I’ll add later)
The folding wheel was pretty interesting, Duncan set out to fill a gap in the folding bike market being a foldable full size in frame and wheel set. The wheel runs tubs which aren’t so practical on the street, rolled on them for a while and it’s expensive. He’s changed direction for the time being and is focusing on wheelchairs as currently the wheels are the only part which doesn’t fold.
